Ohio State opens as 29.5 point favorite over Michigan according to BetMGM

BetMGM has published its opening odds for the Ohio State vs. Michigan football game and the Buckeyes are heavily favored.

Ohio State is a huge favorite over Michigan according to BetMGM. The online sportsbook published its opening odds for The Game, and the Buckeyes are favored by a whopping -29.5 points.

It still remains to be seen if the contest can be played as Michigan still deals with the pause in football activities associated with a rise in positive coronavirus cases, but the program has remained steadfast in trying to get things in position to play.

The rivalry hasn’t been much of one as of late, with Ohio State winning eight in a row and fifteen of the last sixteen. However, as it stands right now, the Buckeyes sorely need the game to be played, and to win so that it can be eligible for the Big Ten Championship Game a week later. The Big Ten has a policy where a team must have played six games to be considered, and right now OSU sits at 5-0. It remains to be seen how the game status will affect the College Football Playoff selection process.

For now though, with the season the Wolverines are having, and with COVID-19 decimating games and rosters, OSU is expected to win The Game in Columbus going away.
