The Buckeyes are continuing their aggressive recruiting. This time, they’ve officially offered Ernest “RJ” Cooper. Cooper IV is a four-star weakside defensive end from Texas from the 2022 recruiting cycle.
Playing at Martin High School, Cooper has been ranked the sixth-best weakside DE in the class according to 247Sports own recruiting rankings. Jeremiah Alexander is the only one of the top five that has committed, choosing Alabama.
Being recruited by ‘Bama and several other high-profile schools, Cooper will have his share of options when looking where to play at the collegiate level.
Watching Chase Young go No. 2 overall, the Buckeyes should have a leg up when talking about their players at the next level. Playing at the level Young was and seeing his success is like a dream for all these young high school studs.
That said, Cooper announced that he’d been offered by one of the nation’s top programs on Twitter a few days ago.

This would be a solid get for a Buckeyes team that has just three 2022 commits so we’ll stay on top of it.
