Ohio State makes the cut with four-star safety from Texas

Ohio State is looking to add depth to a secondary that underperformed somewhat in 2020. A 4-star DB from Texas has Buckeyes in top 7.

One might say that after a sub-par year in the secondary by Ohio State’s standards, the Buckeye coaching staff is going hard after the best DBs in the country. Afterall, when you call your defensive backfield B.I.A. (Best In America), there’s a reputation to uphold.

Four-star Bryan Allen Jr. from Aledo, Texas has listed OSU in his top seven. Allen is rated as the No. 5 safety in the country. The high school junior helped lead his team to 15-1 record and second consecutive 5A Texas state championship. Allen is also a speedster who runs track and boasts a 4.43 40 time.

Others making the cut for the 2022 safety include Oklahoma, Jackson State, Texas A&M, Texas, Auburn, and USC.

Interesting to see Jackson State on this list, but Deion Sanders is trying to make a splash in recruiting as the new head coach at the HBCU.

We’ll keep an eye on how things begin to trend in this one. But for now, it’s good to see Ohio State listed in the youngster’s top seven.
