Ohio State leads all programs with ten 2021 commits on the SI99 rankings

The Ohio State football program leads all teams in the country with a whopping ten commits on the recently released SI99 rankings.

It’s no secret Ohio State football recruiting has been on fire when it comes to the 2021 class. While it’s lost a little momentum with some targets recently picking other schools, and with a big flip from the Buckeyes to another school, the Buckeyes still have the No. 2 ranked class in the country according to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.

We may not fully comprehend just how good this class is with a couple of big-time guys still out there even, but one ranking high school prospect ranking might provide a little more insight.

According to the SI99 rankings by — you guessed it — Sports Illustrated, Ohio State leads all programs with ten whopping commitments among its top 99 high school seniors heading into the 2020 season.

Here’s a complete breakdown of the ten OSU currently has on the list as hard commits to the program:

  • No. 3 – Pickerington (Ohio) Pickerington North DE Jack Sawyer
  • No. 8 – Hopewell (Virginia) Hopewell RB TreVeyon Henderson
  • No. 31 – Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal OL Donovan Jackson
  • No. 39 – Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) St. Joseph’s WR Marvin Harrison, Jr.
  • No. 52 – Cornelius (North Carolina) William Amos Hough RB Evan Pryor
  • No. 53 – Suwanee (Georgia) North Gwinnett DB Jordan Hancock
  • No. 57 – Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) St. Joseph’s QB Kyle McCord
  • No. 62 – Ironton (Ohio) Ironton LB Reid Carrico
  • No. 78 – Streetsboro (Ohio) Streetsboro DT Mike Hall
  • No. 79 – Creve Coeur (Missouri) De Smet Jesuit DB Jakailin Johnson

That’s quite the hall, but remember — Ohio State is still in the running and hoping for commitments from some prospects still on this list including No. 2 (DE J.T. Tuimoloa) and No. 10 (WR Emeka Egbuka).

If it closes well, with commitments like what we’re seeing here, the Buckeyes could sign, seal, and deliver the No. 1 class in the country for 2021. However, it’ll be close because familiar recruiting monster Alabama is making moves.

It’s time to close.
