Ohio State has regained the top spot in the 2021 football recruiting rankings

Alabama briefly passed Ohio State for the top 2021 recruiting class, but the Buckeyes got it back with the commitment of Williams Thursday.

After being well-ahead of every other program in the country when it comes to the football recruiting classes of 2021, Ohio State was finally caught and passed by a familiar foe, Alabama. However, just like the lead in the 2015 Sugar Bowl, that margin over the Buckeyes was short-lived.

That’s because, in case you missed it, Ryan Day and OSU got big news with the commitment of four-star defensive tackle prospect Tyleik Williams out of Manassas, Virginia. As the No. 10 defensive tackle and 160th prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Williams easily vaulted Ohio State back on top of Alabama — for now. The Buckeyes have a total point total of 302.20 to the Tide’s aggregate score of 299.49.

Both programs still have some fish in the sea to catch, and there are other programs like LSU and Clemson gaining and making a push as well, but we can once again say that the Buckeyes have the top recruiting class for the 2021 recruiting cycle.
