Ohio State get commitment from three-star safety

Ohio State football landed its first commitment since February in a three-star safety from the state of Florida.

After a weekend that saw ten Ohio State players drafted and many others signing undrafted free agency contracts, Ryan Day and the coaching staff got more good news on Sunday. Three-star safety, Kye Stokes gave a verbal commitment to play for the Buckeyes.

Stokes hails from Seffner, Florida, and is the No. 56 rated athlete in the nation according to 247Sports. Although listed as an athlete, Stokes projects to play safety for the Bucks. He has great size at 6-feet, 2-inches, and speed to burn. Stokes clocked a 10.80 personal best in the 100-meter dash in a high school track meet.

Don’t let the three stars fool you, Stokes was a wanted man spurning the likes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Notre Dame. And from the looks of his personal Twitter account, Stokes is stoked to be coming to Columbus.

Stokes is a nice pick-up for Ohio State and its first verbal commitment since February.
