Ohio State football moves up in latest US LBM Coaches Poll

Should Ohio State be No. 1 or No. 2 at this point in the season? #GoBucks

What a wild weekend of college football. Several teams in the top ten of the US LBM Coaches Poll lost Saturday and it resulted in some serious shuffling of the latest release. Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, and Michigan all lost, and that’s before we even get into teams outside of the top ten with losses by Missouri and USC.

While chaos abounded around it, however, Ohio State continued to display a dominant brand of football, pulling away from Iowa in the second half to win 35-7 on Saturday to improve its record to 5-0 and on track for a sizeable matchup with Oregon this weekend.

With so many top teams losing, you had to believe the Buckeyes would move up in the latest poll, and that’s exactly what happened. Ohio State moved from No. 3 to No. 2 this week, with the Texas Longhorns being the only team ahead of it.

Behind that duo, and rounding out the top ten are Oregon (3), Georgia (4), Penn State (5), Miami (6), Alabama (7), Ole Miss (8), Tennessee (9), and LSU (10).

That of course means that the matchup between Ohio State and Oregon is officially a top-three one and should be the game of the week by far. To get a look at the entire US LBM Coaches Poll, check out the complete rankings on the next page.
