Ohio State football misses out on its top remaining 2024 safety target

The Buckeyes miss out on the Florida safety #GoBucks

It didn’t seem like [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] was really in the running for Florida safety [autotag]Zaquan Patterson[/autotag], even though he had the Buckeyes in his final five schools.

Patterson made his decision on Saturday morning, opting to stay home and play for Miami. This one could have hurt more. Michigan was in his final group, but Ohio State will not have to face Patterson on an annual basis.

It’s still not great news because Patterson would have filled a huge need for the Buckeyes in the 2024 class. He is 3rd among safeties and 77th overall on the 247Sports composite.

It’s now back to the drawing board to find another safety in the class as Patterson was the final big target left that was considering the Buckeyes.
