Ohio State football beats out Georgia for pledge from top 100 running back

BOOM! Got a big one on #NSD

It’s the new and improved National Signing Day Ohio State football fans. In some regards, it’s a lot like Christmas morning with all of these recruiting gifts officially inking their name on their national letters of intent to become a part of the 2025 recruiting class.

The Buckeyes don’t typically get too involved in a ton of drama compared to other programs, but there are usually a couple of surprises or unknown commitments to watch. And with that, Ohio State just got a pledge from its biggest remaining target on the board with former Alabama commit, 4-star running back Anthony Rogers choosing OSU over Georgia on Wednesday.

OSU had 25 recruits verbally committed before Wednesday, and so far most of them have signed, but there could be a defection with what’s left. Rogers commitment means the Buckeyes will most likely sign a total of 25 or 26 players for the 2025 class.

Rogers gives Ohio State three running backs in the recruiting cycle, joining 4-star Bo Jackson and 3-star Isaiah West. You can credit running backs coach Carlos Locklyn for the hard work in establishing a relationship and brining the talented running back home.

At 5-feet, 190-pounds, Rogers hails from Montgomery, Alabama. He is ranked as the No. 9 running back and 148th overall prospect in the class of 2025 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. It’s a pretty big win for OSU when it needs it most.

We’ll keep you up to any further news that comes out of signing day. In the meantime, you can follow along in real-time as each member of the 2025 recruiting class officially signs.
