Ohio State football 2021 draft comparisons – Offensive lineman Wyatt Davis

Here are our former NFL and Ohio State alum draft comparisons for offensive guard Wyatt Davis.

All-around Comparison: A.J. Cann

Cann was a slightly better prospect than Wyatt, but fell to the third round of the 2015 draft, where he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cann has been starting at guard for the Jags since his rookie season and although unspectacular, he has been extremely solid and an important part of their offensive line.

As highlighted above, Cann was a slightly better prospect than Davis is now, but Davis may actually be selected higher than the third round. They are both similar in the fact that they are plug-and-play prospects that will provide a consistent level of production. They both have a superior combination of athleticism and strength.

The reason Wyatt is viewed as a lesser prospect is due to his lack of dominance when dealing in space, but both prospects are a jack-of-all-trades master of none type. Overall it wouldn’t be surprising to see Davis have a more dominant career than Cann as Davis is stronger and has an elite anchor that few can compete with.
