Ohio State’s superstar defensive end Chase Young held nothing back when talking about where he ranks among the best players in the coming NFL Draft.
“Yes, definitely. “I know I’m the best, definitely,” Young told ESPN’s Maria Taylor on Instagram.
There’s no lack of confidence there, and if his numbers back his potential, there really shouldn’t be.
Having set the single-season sack record at Ohio State, one of the most famed programs in all of college football, Young is touted as one of the best and most explosive defensive players in college football history.
The extremely athletic 6-foot, 5-inch defensive end totaled 16.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss. He easily cleared the record despite being suspended for two late-season games in which Ohio State absolutely destroyed its opponent.

Although he may believe he’s the best and analytics may back his claim, it’s still LSU superstar Joe Burrow that’s projected to go No. 1 overall. Burrow’s overall on-field impact for a team like Cincinnati could be far greater.
That said, it’d be insane to not hear Young’s name called at No. 2.
