Ohio State basketball and Chris Holtmann got its first commitment for the 2022 class Wednesday night. Six-foot, 3-inch shooting guard Bowen Hardman out of Cincinnati is rated as the three-star guard by 247Sports own ranking. It’s too early for him to be rated in any composite ranking, or to be assigned anywhere in the 2022 recruiting class.
He also had offers from area Division I schools Cincinnati and Xavier, but chose the Buckeyes over the two cross-town rivals. Ohio University in Athens was also in the mix for the sharp-shooter.
At Princeton High School, Hardman averaged 11.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and just under one assist per game during his sophomore season. He knocked down 46.4 percent of his shots from the field, which included 39.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Below is his release on Twitter with the announcement of his commitment to Ohio State.

We’ll see how high his ratings go from here through the next couple of years. There’s a good chance we’ll see it improve as he continues to get more eyes on him and his game gets noticed.
Here’s some old video of Hardman from Camp One.
