Official compensation in Bills-Giants deal for Boogie Basham

Official compensation in #Bills-#Giants deal for Boogie Basham:

The full details of the Buffalo Bills’ biggest roster cut-down day transaction has been announced.

The Bills traded former second-round pick Boogie Basham to the New York Giants. Those hoping for some good news should turn away.

The initial reports indicated that there was a “swap” of late-round selections at the 2025 NFL draft. That could have simply meant picks on Day 3. That area of the draft is between Round 4 and 7.

But… we hope you didn’t get too excited about.

The Bills announced Basham left with a seventh-round pick. The Giants merely gave up a sixth rounder.

It was reported that other teams had enquired about AJ Epenesa, too.

Like Basham, he is an underperforming former second-round pick by Buffalo. It’s unclear if the Bills simply got a better offer for Basham or they preferred to keep Epenesa.

Regardless, the second round hasn’t been too kind to general manager Brandon Beane once again with the Basham experiment over. He joins the likes of receiver Zay Jones, offensive lineman Cody Ford… and Epenesa. All left something to be desired.
