Ohio State is in the midst of reviewing game film and trying to correct some things to put a game plan together for Penn State this week, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some Buckeye newcomers still going through the right of passage of shedding their black stripes.
The list is ever-growing, and we had an offensive line duo added to those “officially” becoming a part of the program on Tuesday. One of those was offensive lineman Grant Toutant out of De La Salle Collegiate in Warren, Michigan. He’s listed as 6-foot, 7-inches, and 320-pounds and was rated as a three-star prospect in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
His role remains to be seen early in his career, but now that he’s had his black stripe removed, he can focus on developing into a player that can be counted on when it comes to providing depth and developing his game as a key on the offensive line.
Toutant gave a short note of gratitude in front of his teammates that was shared to the official Ohio State Twitter account on Tuesday.
“First off, I’d like to thank coach Stud (Studwara), my unit, coach Mick (Mariotti) and the strength staff,” said Toutant. “Go Bucks!”
