NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the New Orleans Saints win in 2020?

Assessing the New Orleans Saints’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the New Orleans Saints win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

New Orleans Saints’ 2019 season

The Saints went 13-3 last season en route to an NFC South Division title. They were the only team in the division to finish with an overall record above .500, but that will likely change with both the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers improving with significant personnel moves in free agency as well as the NFL Draft. In 2019, the Saints coasted to a 7-1 record on the road, a 9-3 record vs. the NFC and a 5-1 mark inside the division.

As far as gambling goes, they covered 11 of 16 regular-season games, while posting a 9-7 Over/Under mark.

New Orleans Saints’ 2020 offseason changes

The most notable addition via free agency was adding QB Jameis Winston, who joins a crowded quarterback room with future Hall of Famer Drew Brees and Swiss Army knife Taysom Hill. The team brought back Brees on a two-year, $50 million deal. QB Teddy Bridgewater, last season’s backup, moved to the division-rival Carolina Panthers. WR Emmanuel Sanders was inked to a two-year deal, while DT David Onyemata and OG Andrus Peat were re-signed.

The Saints gave their trio of quarterbacks some added protection by nabbing OL Cesar Ruiz (Michigan), a natural center, in the first-round of the NFL Draft. Ruiz is projected to start at right guard, with C Erik McCoy still in the middle. LB Zack Baun (Wisconsin) and TE Adam Trautman (Dayton) were picked in the third round, and QB Tommy Stevens (Mississippi State) was selected in the seventh. These were the Saints’ only 2020 draft selections as the rest of their picks had been traded away in previous deals.

Projected wins: 10.5 / OVER: +100 / UNDER: -120

Yes, the Buccaneers added QB Tom Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski, and the Falcons improved also, through free agency and the draft. But the Saints are still the class of this division, and they should at least win four games against their rivals. Playing in the Dome is still a daunting task, they have one of the better O-lines in the NFC and their skill position players are strong, too. Even if they win two fewer games than last season, they still will cash an “Over” ticket. At even money the play is OVER 10.5 WINS (+100).
