How many games will the Chicago Bears win in 2020?

Assessing the Chicago Bears’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Chicago Bears win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Chicago Bears 2019 season

Although the Bears went 8-8 last season, it was a hugely disappointing campaign for Matt Nagy’s squad. They finished 12-4 in 2018, won the NFC North and appeared poised to continue improving under QB Mitchell Trubisky. That clearly didn’t happen.

Trubisky is now in danger of losing his job and the offense as a whole was one of the worst in the NFL last year. Chicago had the worst ATS record in football last season at 4-12, failing to cover spreads almost every week.

Chicago Bears 2020 offseason changes

In what was a surprising move, the Bears acquired QB Nick Foles in a trade with the Jaguars. Some of their other big moves included signing DE Robert Quinn, TE Jimmy Graham and CB Artie Burns.

They did lose LB Nick Kwiatkoski and S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in free agency, though, and OLB Leonard Floyd was cut.

Chicago Bears 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 12:15 p.m. ET.

Projected wins: 8.5 / OVER: +145 / UNDER: -176

The Bears didn’t suffer any catastrophic losses this offseason and they did add a strong pass rusher in Quinn, but this team will go as Trubisky does. If he continues to play the way he did in 2019 and Foles can’t provide relief, the Bears will once again finish around .500.

The Packers still remain the favorites in the NFC North, but the Vikings are going to be playoff contenders and the Lions will once again have a healthy QB Matthew Stafford.

The Bears’ schedule will be a challenge and it’s a big reason I’d go with the UNDER (-176) in 2020.

How many games will the Cincinnati Bengals win in 2020?

Assessing the Cincinnati Bengals’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Cincinnati Bengals win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Cincinnati Bengals’ 2019 season

  • Record: 2-14
  • Against the Spread (ATS): 6-10-0
  • Over/Under: 7-9

(Information from Covers.com.)

It wasn’t fun. Franchise wideout A.J. Green missed the entire season with ankle troubles. The Bengals ranked 30th in scoring (17.4 points per game), committed the sixth-most turnovers (30) and allowed fourth-highest total yards per game (393.7).

The positives: Their betting cache was much better than their game results. RB Joe Mixon flashed elite stretches, revealing his future as a franchise back (assuming he doesn’t hold out this preseason), and WR Tyler Boyd broke out.

Cincinnati Bengals’ 2020 offseason changes

Cincy staked its claim for the future with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by picking QB Joe Burrow, who had arguably one of college football’s greatest seasons while leading LSU to the national championship.

Burrow offers the Bengals a talented leader who can make plays with his arm and feet; he could thrive in head coach Zac Taylor’s offensive scheme.

Along with Burrow, Cincinnati picked Clemson wideout Tee Higgins, who’ll likely succeed Green starting next season. Also containing Boyd, John Ross, and Auden Tate, this wideout group could take a major step forward in 2021.

Simple changes include welcoming back two major pieces: Green, who returns from the sidelines in likely his final season as a Bengal; and left tackle Jonah Williams, who missed his entire rookie season with a shoulder injury. The No. 11 overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Alabama should help stabilize the offensive line by protecting Burrow’s blindside. The arrival of guard Xavier Su’a-Filo also helps the middle of the O-line.

Though defensive-line standbys Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap remain in tow, Cincinnati defensive losses include nose tackle Josh Tupou, who has opted out for the season, and cornerbacks Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard, who were replaced by Minnesota Vikings castoffs Trae Waynes and Mackenzie Alexander. Meh.

Cincinnati Bengals 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds current as of Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 8 a.m. ET.

Projected wins: 5.5 … OVER: -139 / UNDER: +115

Even with the NFL’s expanded playoff format, only two teams, max, may come out of the division among the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers and the potentially rising Cleveland Browns. Maybe the Bengals steal one from the Steelers or Browns, but I’m not seeing two divisional victories.

However, the Bengals could steal two W’s in the first two weeks; the Chargers and Jaguars look to be in play. However, the next five games (wrapped around their Week 9 bye) look bleak.

The pendulum swings again immediately after their Week 10 draw at Pittsburgh; the Who Deys could snag at least two victories among a stretch that includes Washington, the Giants and the Dolphins.

Let’s pencil in a win against the Jaguars and Washington. The Giants and Dolphins are also in range. The Chargers, who have a talented defense, may be a reach for Burrow’s first NFL game following this COVID-19 preseason.

The Bengals are moving in a solid direction for a rebuild, but don’t overestimate those results for 2020. I’ll give them four wins, including a generous two of the aforementioned borderline opportunities.

That means I’d BET The Under 5.5 (+115), which would profit $11.50 on a $10 bet.

Exact Season Wins: Bands

  • 0-4 wins: +250
  • 5-8 wins: -278
  • 9-12 wins: +1000
  • 13-16 wins: +10000

As high as I want to be on Cincinnati’s future, the 5-8 bracket for 2020 is a trap that offers little profit.

I’d rather BET 0-4 (+250) by assuming that they still could lose the borderline clashes with the Chargers, Giants and Dolphins, who have more polish on defense. Cincinnati still needs help on that side, which will still leak often against those three promising-to-great offenses and other more accomplished clubs on the schedule.

Exact Wins: Best Bet

I’ll BET 4 wins (+400).

I also like the Team to lose all 6 division games (+350).

Consider First Regular-Season Win for the Chargers (+150) or Jaguars (+240), preferably Jacksonville.

2020 MLB Futures Odds: How many games will the New York Yankees win?

Looking at 2020 MLB futures odds for how many games the New York Yankees will win in the 60-game MLB season.

How many games will the New York Yankees win in the 60-game 2020 MLB season? We look at the Yankees’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2020 win total and Over/Under odds at BetMGM, and make our best bet.

New York Yankees 2019 recap

The 2019 Yankees played .636 baseball, going 103-59 en route to capturing the American League East flag by seven games (over the Tampa Bay Rays). The Bronx Bombers were the No. 2 seed in the AL Playoffs, eventually losing in a six-game AL Championship Series against the top-seeded Houston Astros. New York averaged an MLB-best 5.8 runs per game while allowing 4.56 runs per game.

Looking at some notable splits, the Yankees went 32-16 in games decided by five or more runs … 18-19 in one-run games … 38-22 over their first 60 games and 54-22 against AL East foes. The Over went 88-77-6 in Yankees games; that figure was buoyed by a 48-31-4 O/U record on the road.

New York Yankees offseason

New York lost reliever Dellin Betances to the New York Mets in free agency and starter CC Sabathia retired. Also gone are SS Didi Gregorius and DH Edwin Encarnacion.

The biggest plus on the addition side is right-handed starter Gerrit Cole, who will anchor a rotation with question marks and without RHP Luis Severino (Tommy John surgery). Other welcome “additions” would be healthy returns to action by the likes of OF Aaron Hicks (59 games in 2019), OF Giancarlo Stanton (18), OF Aaron Judge (102), and 1B Luke Voit (118).

New York Yankees 2020 schedule

The Yankees are slated to play in an all-East regional format, with the team playing each AL East foe 10 times — for a total of 40 games — and the remaining 20 games coming against NL East opponents. Looking at last year’s 54-22 divisional mark and taking away what were some lackluster trips to the Midwest and West Coast, the abbreviated “COVID-19 schedule” seems to set up well for New York.

How many games will the New York Yankees win in 2020?

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday, July 1 at 10:15 a.m. ET.

The Yankees O/U win total is tabbed at 37.5 with both the Over and Under carrying -110 odds. There isn’t a ton of upside value in the OVER play, but there’s enough there to include New York in a parlay of 4-5 teams.

New York Yankees World Series odds

New York is tabbed at +400 to win the Series. That’s a solid play for an organization with a ton of depth in a year where the 26th man (and perhaps the 46th man) will come into play more than any other.

New York Yankees playoff odds

The Yankees are listed at -323 to win the AL East. The win total and World Series odds have better value.

How many games will the Washington Redskins win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Washington Redskins’ 2019 season

The Redskins were one of the NFL’s worst teams in 2019, finishing with the second-worst record at 3-13. They weren’t much better against the spread, going 6-10, while posting an 8-8 Over/Under record.

Washington Redskins’ 2020 offseason changes

First off, the Redskins hired a new coach in Ron Rivera. In free agency, they lost OT Ereck Flowers, QB Case Keenum and CB Josh Norman. However, CB Kendall Fuller returns after spending two years with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Redskins also signed free agents in LB Thomas Davis, OT Wes Schweitzer, S Sean Davis and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, and they traded for QB Kyle Allen.

In the draft, they added DE Chase Young (the No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State), RB Antonio Gibson (Memphis) and OL Saahdiq Charles (LSU).

Washington Redskins’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Thursday, May 14 at 3:15 a.m. ET.

Projected wins: 5 / OVER: -130 / UNDER: +110

The Redskins, who are rebuilding around QB Dwayne Haskins, will have a tough road in 2020. They have five games against 2019 playoffs teams and face the upstart Cowboys and Cardinals. There might be only three games they will be favored in. Even if they somehow sneak two wins inside the NFC East, it is tough to find four more wins on the schedule. Haskins was not at all inspiring as a rookie. That combined with a tough schedule makes taking the UNDER 5 (+110) the best bet here.

NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the Tampa Bay Buccaneeers win in 2020?

Assessing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2019 season

The Buccaneers finished 7-9, including 5-7 against NFC foes and 2-4 inside the NFC South Division. While the Bucs were a surprising 5-3 on the road, they were a dismal 2-6 at Raymond James Stadium.

Gambling-wise, the Bucs were 5-9-2 against the spread, but they were the best “Over” team in the league, posting a 12-4 Over/Under record.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2020 offseason changes

In case you missed it, Tampa Bay was involved in the biggest move of the offseason. Future NFL Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady left the New England Patriots organization and landed on Florida’s Suncoast, receiving a two-year deal worth $50 million. As such, the Bucs said “so long” to QB Jameis Winston, who has since landed in New Orleans. Brady’s signing also led to TE Rob Gronkowski being lured out of retirement as the Bucs acquired his rights from the Patriots. The team also kept EDGE Shaquil Barrett by using the franchise tag, while EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul and DT Ndamukong Suh were re-signed. However, WR Breshad Perriman left to join the New York Jets in free agency.

The Bucs were Big Ten-heavy in their draft process, landing OL Tristan Wirfs (Iowa) in the first round and S Antoine Winfield Jr. (Minnesota) in the second. RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn (Vanderbilt) was selected in the third round, while they went back to the Big Ten for WR Tyler Johnson (Minnesota) in the fifth and DL Khalil Davis (Nebraska) in the sixth. In the seventh round the Bucs rounded out their draft by adding LB Chapelle Russell (Temple) and RB Raymond Calais (Louisiana).

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Tuesday, May 12 at 1 a.m. ET.

Projected wins: 10 / OVER: +105 / UNDER: -125

There are a lot of heavy expectations and a lot of excitement surrounding the Bucs, as they added Brady and Gronk. But Brady turns 43 in August, while Gronk will celebrate his 31st birthday Thursday (May 14), brings a lot of mileage and is coming back from retirement. It’s not to discount their ability, but the defending division champion Saints are still the class of the NFC South.

The early portion of the Bucs’ schedule sets up rather favorably. They’ll pile up some wins, especially in the early part of the season, and there is no way they post a losing record at the Ray Jay in back-to-back seasons. Their fate, and the fate of bettors, might come down to the two games in the final three weekends against the Falcons. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a push on 10 wins, but if you’re betting on the Bucs, going OVER 10 WINS (+105) is the better value. But go lightly.

Tennessee Titans’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Sunday, May 10 at 9 p.m. ET.

Projected wins:  8.5 / OVER:  -139 / UNDER:  +115

The 2019 Titans ended the regular season just as the previous three Titans teams did:  9-7. However, they snuck into the playoffs — where they beat the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots and the AFC’s No. 1 seed in the Ravens — after QB Ryan Tannehill replaced Mariota in Week 6. Recently franchise-tagged RB Derrick Henry played a major role in the Titans’ success, and with Tannehill, who earned a four-year, $118 million extension, and second-year WR A.J. Brown, they could have the Titans poised to be a top-10 offense in 2020.

Head coach Mike Vrabel may need to scheme ’em up a little with a Titans defense that lost a lot of familiar faces this offseason. Tennesse still has talent on defense, but depth is a big question mark and the Titans were pretty average in 2019 (22nd in opponent’s yards per game and 16th in Football Outsiders’ defensive DVOA). But Tennessee only faces one top-10 offense from 2019 next season in the Ravens, which leads me into the real advantage the 2020 Titans have.

Tennessee got blessed by the schedule gods, having the second easiest strength of schedule according to SharpFootballAnalysis.com. The Titans’ Week 4-through-Week 10 slate is extra cushiony; the only road game is after their bye week when they visit the Bengals in Week 8, while four of their six opponents were not playoff teams last season. With the soft schedule, an above-average head coach and a dynamic offense, I’m TAKING the TENNESSEE TITANS OVER 8.5 (-139) WINS

NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the San Francisco 49ers win in 2020?

Assessing the San Francisco 49ers’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the San Francisco 49ers win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

San Francisco 49ers’ 2019 season

The 49ers were great in 2019. They won their first eight games and finished 13-3 in the regular season. They went on to win the NFC Championship before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Vs. the sportsbooks, they were 9-6-1 against the spread in the regular season (11-7-1 including postseason), while posting an 8-7-1 Over-Under record (9-9-1 including postseason).

San Francisco 49ers’ 2020 offseason changes

LT Joe Staley retired, but the 49ers acquired LT Trent Williams, a seven-time Pro Bowler, in a trade with the Washington Redskins.

They also added WR Travis Benjamin and OL Tom Compton, signing both free agents to one-year deals.

However, San Francisco traded away DL DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts, and lost WR Emmanuel Sanders – who signed with the New Orleans Saints. DL Sheldon Day, DL Anthony Zettel and LB Elijah Lee also left, signing elsewhere.

The NFL Draft saw San Francisco select DL Javon Kinlaw (South Carolina) and WR Brandon Aiyuk (Arizona State) in the first round.

If the 49ers simply split their divisional games for three wins and beat the teams expected to be lesser competition (Jets, Giants, Dolphins, Patriots and Redskins), that’s eight wins with five other games to win three more to hit the Over. They should. TAKE THE OVER 10.5 (-115).

NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the Seattle Seahawks win in 2020?

Assessing the Seattle Seahawks’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Seattle Seahawks win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Seattle Seahawks’ 2019 season

The Seahawks went 11-5, qualifying for the NFC postseason as a wild card and the No. 5 seed – the San Francisco 49ers won the NFC West at 13-3. Seattle ended up going just 4-4 at Century Link Field, but posted a sparkling 7-1 mark on the road. In addition, the Seahawks were 8-4 vs. NFC teams and 3-1 against the AFC, but they were simply mediocre against division rivals at 3-3.

For betting purposes, they finished 7-8-1 against the spread with an 8-7-1 Over/Under record in the regular season.

Seattle Seahawks’ 2020 offseason changes

The Seahawks were not terribly busy in the free agency market. It wasn’t totally quiet, however, as they did retain DT Jarran Reed, inking him to a two-year, $23 million deal.

The Seahawks improved their defense in the NFL Draft with the addition of LB Jordyn Brooks (Texas Tech) and EDGE Darrell Taylor (Tennessee) in the first two rounds. OL Damien Lewis (LSU) was picked in the third, TE Colby Parkinson (Stanford) and RB Deejay Dallas (Miami) were selected in the fourth, while EDGE Alton Robinson (Syracuse) was grabbed in the fifth round. Seattle’s final two picks were WR Freddie Swain (Florida) and TE Stephen Sullivan (LSU) in the sixth and seventh rounds, respectively.

Seattle Seahawks’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Thursday, May 7 at 11 p.m. ET.

Projected wins: 9.5 / OVER: +120 / UNDER: -145

The books aren’t feeling the Seahawks and their personnel changes during the offseason. In addition, while they’re not likely to go .500 again in front of their boisterous fans, the home schedule is rather daunting. There are a couple of certain victories, but a lot of difficult tasks, too. In addition, they’re not going 7-1 on the road again. Long, cross-country treks to the Eastern Time Zone for all five of their non-divisional road games will take a lot of wind out of their sails. UNDER 9.5 (-145) is the way to go here.

NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the Philadelphia Eagles win in 2020?

Assessing the Philadelphia Eagles’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Philadelphia Eagles win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Philadelphia Eagles’ 2019 season

The Eagles ended up with a 9-7 record, good enough to outlast everyone else in the division to win the NFC East by one game. They ended up going 5-3 at home, while finishing 4-4 on the road, the only team in the NFC East to go .500 or better away from home. They were also 5-1 inside the division, which was key.

Against the spready, they finished 7-9 with an 8-8 Over/Under record in the regular season.

Philadelphia Eagles’ 2020 offseason changes

The Eagles made a splash by snaking DL Javon Hargrave on a three-year deal, and they retained S Rodney McLeod on a two-year pact. S Jalen Mills was also brought back for one season.

The Eagles raised a few eyebrows by selecting WR Jalen Reagor (TCU) in the first-round at No. 21 overall. The surprise paled in comparison to the absolute shock of picking QB Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma) in the middle of the second round. LB Davion Taylor (Colorado) was picked in the third, S K’Von Wallace (Clemson) and OL Jack Driscoll (Auburn) were added in the fourth, WR John Hightower (Boise State) was selected in the fifth round, while the Birds grabbed a trio of players in the sixth with LB Shaun Bradley (Temple), WR Quez Watkins (Southern Miss) and OL Prince Tega Wanogho (Auburn). LB Casey Toohill (Stanford) rounded out their draft as a seventh-rounder.

Philadelphia Eagles’ 2020 win total: Best bet

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Friday, May 8 at 3 a.m. ET.

Projected wins: 9.5 / OVER: -110 / UNDER: -110

The Eagles won nine games a season ago, and showed some offensive cohesiveness down the stretch. They should be healthier, and while the Cowboys will be their biggest challenger to the division title, the Eagles have enough pieces in place to defend their NFC East crown. Still, the road schedule looks rather daunting, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see an 8-8 or 9-7 record again. UNDER 9.5 WINS (-110) is the play here.

NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the Pittsburgh Steelers win in 2020?

Assessing the Pittsburgh Steelers’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Pittsburgh Steelers win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2019 season

The Steelers have missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2012-2013. The near season-long absence of QB Ben Roethlisberger – who suffered an elbow injury in Week 2 – draws a large share of the blame for 2019’s 8-8 finish, though Pittsburgh was still able to finish second in the AFC North.

The Steelers went 9-7 against the spread, but they lost by an average of 0.9 points per game and failed to cover by 1.3 PPG. They also went just 4-12 against the Over/Under and failed to cover the point projections by 4.9 PPG. The defense held the opposition to just 18.9 PPG, but QBs Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges guided the offense to a poor 18.1 PPG in place of Big Ben.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2020 offseason changes

The Steelers have had a largely uneventful offseason for the first time in a while, following the sagas of RB Le’Veon Bell and WR Antonio Brown in recent years. Pittsburgh didn’t have a first-round draft pick after acquiring S Minkah Fitzpatrick during the 2019 campaign. WR Chase Claypool (Notre Dame) was the team’s first selection in the 2020 draft in the second round.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2020 win total: Best bets

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m. ET.

Projected wins: 9 / OVER: -115 / UNDER: -105

The Steelers pulled off an 8-8 season and a second-place finish in the division without Roethlisberger. They’re now projected for just one more win with him back under center and with Claypool joining the offense as the No. 2 option to WR JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Bet the OVER 9 (-115) and count on a push being the worst-case scenario. Pittsburgh went 3-3 in divisional play a year ago. They’ll play just four teams from the 2019 playoffs this year, in addition to the two games against the division champion Ravens. Look at the Steelers to win exactly 10 games with +300 odds for an even greater return on your investment.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Steelers to win more than 9 games would return a profit of $8.70. The same wager to win exactly 10 games returns a profit of $30.
