A second Husker has now been taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Cincinnati Bengals have taken cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt with the 60th pick overall. The AFC Champions are fortifying their secondary in this draft as they took Michigan safety Daxton Hill with their selection in the first round. They needed to strengthen that part of their defense as the Bengals ranked 26th in pass defense, giving up an average of 248.4 yards per game.
Cam Taylor-Britt hails from Montgomery, Alabama. At the NFL combine, he stood at 5’11” tall and weighed 196 pounds. In 42 games at Nebraska, he had 96 career tackles, 2.5 sacks, 6 interceptions, and 27 passes defended. He was a second-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and the media for the 2021 season. The Huskers had not had two players selected this high since the 2015 draft when Ammer Abdullah and Randy Gregory were taken in the second round with the 54th and 60th pick.
