NFL comparisons for the four drafted Badgers

NFL draft season is full of aimless comparisons with every quarterback coming out of college being projected as the next Tom Brady…

NFL comp: Chase Roullier

Biadasz’s NFL comp is hard to find as, for obvious reasons, centers are harder to project than other positions like running back, linebacker and wide receiver.

One thing for sure, though, is that despite the parallels drawn with him set to step into Travis Frederick‘s role on the Cowboys in a few years, it’s nearly impossible for him to completely fill Frederick’s shoes as the best center in the NFL for 5-6 years.

Thats where the Chase Roullier comp comes in.

Roullier is the current center for the Washington Redskins and has nearly-identical measurables to Biadasz, as he is 6’4″ compared to Biadasz at 6’3″ and weighs 310 pounds compared to Biadasz’s 316.

Furthermore, Roullier, like Biadasz, was a later-round draft pick and has turned himself into a solid starting center in the NFL, good enough to earn a grade of 69.3 for the 2019 season from ProFootballFocus. He is a player that doesn’t commit many penalties and, seen below, had an extremely similar scouting report entering the 2017 draft to that of Biadasz this season:

Per PFF: “Great at generating movement upon contact. Creates unexpected movement often as the center in Wyoming’s power attack. Good at working low to high with his upper body in blocks. Consistently solid on film, doesn’t lose blocks often.” But, “Not overly athletic, especially in his lower body and does not have the best footwork in pass protection and can get out of position.”

This sounds exactly like the former Badger center, somebody who is powerful off the line and consistent but isn’t the most athletic prospect at the position and sometimes struggles in pass protection.
