NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors dropping loss vs. Hawks despite 37 points from Klay Thompson

Despite 37 points from Klay Thompson, the Warriors couldn’t slow down Trae Young and the Hawks. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter on Friday night.

After Jordan Poole and the rest of the young core helped will a victory over the Miami Heat without Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Otto Porter Jr., some of the Golden State Warriors’ veterans returned to the floor on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks All-Star guard tallied 15 points on his own on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor with three triples in the third quarter.

While the Warriors attempted a run in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to keep up with Young and the Hawks. Young notched 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the floor with 15 assists and four rebounds to lead the Hawks to a 121-110 win.

On a positive note for the Warriors, Thompson played a season-high 40 minutes on Friday night, scoring a game-high 37 points on 14-of-26 shooting from the field. Thompson also notched a season-best nine triples on 16 attempts from deep.
