Marcus Bingham Jr. will forego his extra year of eligibility and declare for the NBA draft

Another huge domino when it comes to the Michigan State basketball 2022-23 roster has fallen. On Saturday, Mike Lacett of WZZM Grand Rapids reported that Marcus Bingham Jr. will forego his extra year of eligibility and declare for the 2022 NBA draft.

This news comes on the same day that Gabe Brown also announced that he will not be rejoining the team. Like Brown, Bingham definitely has skills that will be attractive to NBA teams, but also like Brown, he struggled with his consistency throughout the season and will need to impress in workouts to get a solid opportunity at the next level.

Bingham finally got his chance to play more than 15 minutes per game this year, and he made good use of it for the most part, averaging 9.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. Remarkably, he also managed to set the MSU all-time career blocks record despite playing limited minutes in his time with the Spartans.
