Malik Hooker signs with the Dallas Cowboys

This could pay off big time if the super athletic Malik Hooker can stay healthy.

Malik Hooker has signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Hooker was a first-round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2017 as the No. 15 overall pick out of Ohio State.

Hooker had a solid start to his career before suffering a torn ACL just seven games into his rookie year. He would battle various injuries in 2018 and 2019 before suffering an Achilles injury that caused him to miss all but two games in 2020.

If the former Ohio State safety can stay healthy, he’s shown that he can be an impact player. The question is can he stay free of injuries. With Hooker still being relatively young, it’s a gamble that could pay big dividends for the Cowboys if he can stay on the field.

While in Indianapolis, Hooker played in a total of 36 games, totaling 124 tackles, with seven interceptions. The terms of the contract have not yet been disclosed.
