Texas will be sporting all white throwback uniforms against Baylor on Oct. 24 to honor the 50th anniversary of the 1970 national title team.
It’s the first time that the Longhorns will wear white at home since 1950.
The first glimpse of these icy white jerseys were released via Twitter on Tuesday by Texas’ social media department. Given that Texas still fields one of the more traditional uniforms in all of college football, these seem par for the course.
The tribute uniform looks fairly plain in nature, but in the best possible way. Texas players will be sporting two burnt orange lines on each shoulder pad and pants that are completely white.

The Longhorns also showcased the oldschool Bevo logo — the live mascot of the athletic programs at the University of Texas — on their white gloves.
Change is certainly needed in Austin after consecutive conference losses to two unranked teams. If that starts with the jerseys, then so be it.
Head coach Tom Herman is under extreme scrutiny for the noticeable lack of preparation, player development and discipline surrounding his football team. It’s an absolute must-win game for the Longhorns on Saturday.
