The Jacksonville Jaguars signed former Texas defensive back Josh Thompson as an undrafted free agent after the conclusion of the 2022 NFL draft.
Thompson chose to declare for the NFL Draft at the end of Texas’ season finale in Nov., choosing to forgo his extra COVID-19 year of eligibility the NCAA granted to all athletes.
The former three-star from the class of 2017 turned into one of the most consistent players in the Texas secondary. Thompson snagged two interceptions and made over 100 tackles in 22 games played at Texas. He brings versatility to the Jaguars defense with experience at both nickel and corner.
Special teams is an area of the game where Thompson excelled at Texas and will likely keep him on an NFL roster for years to come.
Thompson appears to be getting accustomed to his new uniform in Jacksonville.
