Longhorns Wire Roundtable: When will Texas HC Tom Herman get the boot?

Each staff member predicts when Texas will move on from head coach Tom Herman.

The hottest topic around the college football landscape surrounds the future of Texas head coach Tom Herman.

After failing to defeat Iowa State on Friday to stay in the Big 12 title race, fans are now understandably frustrated and ready for the program to move in a new direction. If athletic director Chris Del Conte wants to consistently compete for championships, he should be ready to look elsewhere also.

Herman continues to sit in a puddle of mediocrity. While he’s showcased a few big wins throughout his tenure in Austin, he’s also suffered numerous inexcusable losses. With the fifth-most talented roster in the country this season, Herman’s squad isn’t even competing for the Big 12 title.

Herman was severely outcoached in the losses to TCU and Iowa State this year. His game management has been poor and the team has played undisciplined football more often than not.

On top of those struggles, the recruiting department is now suffering from the lack of player development and production on the field. The bleeding has to be stopped.
