Leo Chenal was the star of Wisconsin’s defense in the Badgers’ 20-14 win over Army this past Saturday. The Grantsburg, Wisconsin native set a career-high with 17 tackles, and had the game-winning strip sack as Army attempted to drive for the lead late in the fourth quarter.
The inside linebacker was used masterfully by Jim Leonhard, as he was able to disrupt Army’s triple option by quickly bursting into the backfield all evening long. Chenal, in fact, had more tackles than any Badger has had over the last three seasons. His 17 tackles were the most by a Wisconsin player since T.J. Edwards had 18 against Minnesota in 2018:

Chenal and the Badger defense will look to continue their dominance this Saturday when Wisconsin visits Purdue.
