The roster for the NFL Pro Bowl has been finalized with seven Baltimore Ravens players making the final cut. One notable missing name was quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson seemingly opted out of playing in the Pro Bowl after initially being voted in. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew will take Jackson’s place in the Pro Bowl.

Jackson’s incredible season netted him first-team All-Pro honors for the second time in his career and a likely second MVP award. Given the competitor Jackson is, though, his final game of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs is sure to leave a sour taste in his mouth for the rest of the offseason as he prepares for another shot at the elusive Lombardi Trophy. Jackson had a pair of turnovers in the AFC Championship loss to the Chiefs, including a backbreaking interception in the endzone when he tried to fit a pass into triple coverage to tight end Isaiah Likely.

Individual awards seem to mean very little to the accomplished quarterback now so it does not come as a surprise that he will not be playing in this year’s Pro Bowl.
