Jadeveon Clowney ‘would love’ to be back in Baltimore next season

Jadeveon Clowney ‘would love’ to be back with Baltimore Ravens in 2024

One of the biggest revelations for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 was the play of veteran outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney signed a one-year deal worth up to $6 million following a disappointing season with the Cleveland Browns. The 30-year-old edge defender went on to have a resurgence year with the Ravens, totaling 9.5 sacks — tied for his previous season high with the Houston Texans in 2017.

The former No. 1 overall pick has bounced from team to team around the league after leaving the Texans in 2019, but Clowney is hoping he can remain in Baltimore following his incredible season. The biggest hurdle will be whether or not the Ravens can afford Clowney after such a season given their current cap situation and number of important free agents.

“Sure hope so,” Clowney said. “Like I said, I enjoyed coming to work. It made my life a lot easier this year. That’s probably why I played at a high level because I [didn’t] have any pressure. I would just come in, have fun and be yourself and just play ball. There was never any pressure throughout the week on anybody, but yes, I would love to come back here.”

During locker room cleanouts, Clowney was asked if he would consider coming back to Baltimore.
