Kansas City Chiefs select Texas DT Keondre Coburn in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft

Keondre Coburn is now a Kansas City Chief!

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Texas defensive tackle Keondre Coburn with the No. 194 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft.

Coburn became the fourth Longhorn taken off the board in the first six rounds of the draft. He joined Bijan Robinson, DeMarvion Overshown and Roschon Johnson in fulfilling their NFL dreams.

The fifth-year defensive lineman played in 51 games for Texas and was named second-team All-Big 12 by the league’s coaches and the Associated Press in 2022. Additionally, he was honorable mention for the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.

As a senior in 2022, Coburn recorded 28 tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two quarterback hurries. The Chiefs landed a high-effort player with a quick first step and terrific upside.
