Justin Fields: “I don’t care when we play Michigan, I just want to play them and beat the brakes off them.”

Ohio State QB Justin Fields when asked about playing Michigan early in the year: “I just want to beat the brakes off them.”

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is looking forward to the potential of having a season as a newly christened captain of the 2020 squad. He, other captains, and head coach Ryan Day met with members of the media today via teleconference to touch on several things.

When it was Justin Fields’ turn, he had a lot to say, but one thing in particular stood out. He listed his goals for the season, starting with beating “That Team Up North,” but then he took it further.

When asked his thoughts on playing Michigan towards the beginning of the season rather than as the traditional regular-season finale, it didn’t take long for the OSU quarterback to take things up a notch.

“I don’t care when we play them. I just want to play them and beat the brakes off them.”

Now, let’s be honest. If this were a Michigan player making that statement, it would absolutely blow up in the media. That being said, we probably can’t be too hard on Wolverine fans for wanting to give Fields a super wedgie over this one.

But … with the domination OSU has had over Michigan over the last fifteen or so years, there’s probably not going to be too much come of this.

Oh, and lastly, good on you Fields.
