Jazz coach Will Hardy on Taylor Hendricks: He has shown significant improvement

Jazz rookie Taylor Hendricks registered his third double-double in the G League on Tuesday to lead the Stars to a win over the Charge.

Utah Jazz rookie Taylor Hendricks registered his third double-double of the season while on assignment in the G League on Tuesday to lead the Salt Lake City Stars to a win over the Cleveland Charge.

Hendricks produced 13 points, 10 rebounds and one blocked shot in the 126-113 road victory. He went 6-of-10 from the field, including 1-of-4 from 3-point range, in 31 minutes of work in his 11th appearance with the Stars.

The ninth pick finished in double figures for the 10th time this season to continue a strong run with the Stars. It was his fifth straight game hauling in at least nine rebounds.

Hendricks returned to the G League after a recent stint with the Jazz, in which he averaged 5.7 points and 2.7 rebounds on 38.2% shooting from the field in 10 appearances. He was in the rotation for the first time and averaged 17.2 minutes per game.

Jazz coach Will Hardy believes Hendricks has shown significant improvement from the start of training camp to his recent stint with the team. Hardy said those rotation minutes will help him continue to improve in the G League, via Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune.

Hendricks is averaging 15.1 points, seven rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 assists on 34.8% shooting from 3-point range with the Stars. He has registered three 20-point games, including a season-high 26 points on Nov. 29 in a win against the Ontario Clippers.

The former UCF standout will likely play another stint with the Stars this month before joining the rotation again in Utah. The team has been encouraged by his progress this season and believes the 20-year-old has a bright future.
