It’s been almost a month since NFL free agency began, and one of the big names still out on the market is former Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, who was shown the door in Tampa Bay after five seasons when the Bucs lured six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady away from the Patriots.
Despite throwing for 5,109 yards last season, Winston also tossed a league-high 30 interceptions, which is probably one of the main reasons teams have been hesitant about offering him a contract. At this point, it appears Winston may have to wait until after the NFL draft to find a new team, and even then it might only be in backup role.
Regardless of where he ends up, the former Heisman Trophy winner is making sure to put in the work every day to keep himself in shape. Still, it has to be a tough time for Winston, which is why keeping a positive attitude is essential.
Winston took to his Instagram story today and shared a few motivational posts, including a picture of singer Ed Sheeran performing on the streets before he had his name in lights. It’s clear the quarterback is hoping to make a comeback for the ages if and when he’s given the chance to start again.
