The Houston Texans won the AFC South in 2023 for the 1st time since 2019. They have won the division 5 of the last 9 years, but have never made it to a conference championship game nor a Super Bowl since being founded in 2002.

Houston is led by former star LB Demeco Ryans, who ended with 10 wins in his 1st year as a head coach. Houston didn’t have a 1st-round pick, but added CB Kamari Lassiter from Georgia in the 2nd round. It also traded for Buffalo Bills star WR Stefon Diggs and long-time Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon.

Below, we look at the Houston Texans’ 2024 NFL Super Bowl odds from FanDuel Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

Texans over/under win total

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook – last updated May 20 at 11:41 p.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 9.5 wins: (Over: -150 | Under: +122)

The Texans won the conference last season, and although they amplified their offense even further with the addition of Diggs and Mixon, they may struggle to get to this Over. They have only hit double-digit wins in 5 seasons since being founded in 2002.

Houston has the 26th-hardest strength of schedule and will face 5 teams that made the playoffs last season in its last 8 games. The AFC South could be a little better than expected as well with the Jaguars’ QB Trevor Lawrence at full strength and Colts’ QB Anthony Richardson back to healthy as well.

With those accounting for 4 games along with Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes on the schedule, the UNDER 9.5 (+122) is the better value and is worth a play here. This is the best Texans season-long play given their difficult schedule.

Texans Super Bowl odds

  • +1600 (bet $100 to win $1,600)

Houston has the 9th-shortest odds to win the Super Bowl in 2024. The San Francisco 49ers (+550) are the favorite followed by the NFL-reigning Kansas City Chiefs (+600).

At +1600, Houston has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 5.9% or 16/1 fractional odds. The Carolina Panthers have the longest odds at +30000.

Given their offensive weapons and strong defensive playmakers, backing the TEXANS (+1600) to win the Super Bowl for a 16-1 payoff is worth a small wager.

Will Texans make the playoffs?

  • Yes -192 | No +154

There’s no real value here either way. The YES (-192) is too expensive to suggest, especially considering the immense amount of talent in the AFC. The AFC North has the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens likely to make the playoffs while the AFC East has the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

However, the Texans are rightfully the division favorites and have the most talented roster in the AFC South, making their NO (+154) not great value either.

Odds to win AFC South Division

  • Texans +105 (bet $100 to win $105)
  • Jaguars +270 (bet $100 to win $270)
  • Colts +330 (bet $100 to win $330)
  • Titans +800 (bet $100 to win $800)

Houston’s implied probability of winning the AFC South is 48.8% or 1.05/1 fractional odds. The Jags appear to be the main threats here, with the Colts heavily reliant on how Richardson’s improves after coming back from numerous injuries as a rookie.

Houston QB CJ Stroud will still only be in his 2nd season and isn’t quite reliable enough to back it here. Given the talent on those teams, taking the Texans at (+105) gives little value, and there are better options on the table.

Texans odds to win AFC

  • +850 (bet $100 to win $850)

There are, simply put, too many talented teams in the conference, and the Texans have too difficult of a schedule to win the AFC.

The Chiefs are the favorites. Jackson’s Ravens and Joe Burrow’s Bengals are the next 2 teams with the Bills then the Texans. Those top 4 teams are all extremely talented and have more experienced quarterbacks.

The Texans have won 12 games once and have never topped that total. In the last 2 seasons, both teams that won the AFC had 13 or more wins – Ravens 13 in 2023 and Chiefs 14 in 2024.

Houston has a talented roster, but it isn’t worth a play at +850.
