One of the top 2025 Ohio prospects is safety [autotag]Trey McNutt[/autotag], who was supposed to make his commitment on August 3 with Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Florida and USC as his finalists.
Multiple reports came out on Friday that the 6-foot, 180-pound star will not make his choice in a few weeks. The nation’s No. 19 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings seemed to be favoring the Ducks, but a recent wave of commitments for them clearly has McNutt questioning if that is the place for him.
This can only be viewed as a positive development for the Buckeyes, as they now have more time to recruit the legacy.

Without a timeframe for a commitment, it’s hard to guess what McNutt is thinking. Hopefully he comes to his senses and eventually suits up for the Scarlet and Gray.
