Is DeVonta Smith hinting at a preferred landing spot?

Former Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith is one of the 2021 draft’s highest graded wide receivers. Is he dropping hints as to where he …

Former Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith won the 2020 Heisman trophy and is now sitting pretty high on big boards leading up to the 2021 NFL draft.

With only a few days remaining, it seems as if fans and analysts cannot wait to see who gets drafted where on night No. 1.

Mock drafts are plentiful, as are the rumors, but there aren’t too many conspiracies. Let’s change that.

What if Smith is telling everyone he wants to be drafted to the New York Giants?

If one is looking for signs that he’s trying to hint at something, then they could easily find clues on the clothes he’s worn and where he’s visited.

During Alabama’s spring game, Smith was honored on the field with the Heisman trophy. What many noticed was the hat he wore: an all-black New York Yankees hat.

Is this a reach? Definitely, but let’s keep going.

Only four days after being spotted in the Yankees hat, Smith was seen wearing the same hat. However, this time, he was in New York.

Smith was photographed sitting courtside at a New York Knicks game in Madison Square garden.

The New York Giants currently hold the No. 11 overall selection. With a few teams ahead of them in need of a wide receiver, it doesn’t seem as if he’d fall past the top 10.

There are two possibilities the Giants could land Smith: if the teams in front of the Giants pass on him and take other receivers, or if the Giants try to trade up into the top 10 and bypass the other teams that could look to draft him.

At the end of the day, Smith can have a preference, but the teams will have the final say in where he begins his professional career.

This is all just speculation and a bit of fun with all the craziness leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, but what if it’s all true?
