Injury update on Georgia football running backs

Kirby Smart provides an injury update on two UGA football running backs

The Georgia Bulldogs are battling a few injuries at running back. Georgia has a deep running backs room, but several Bulldog running backs have already missed significant action this season.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart updated senior running back Kendall Milton’s status ahead of the UAB game. Milton has been fighting a knee injury.

Kendall’s been in rehab. He’s been rehabbing and working.

I’m still holding out hope that Kendall will be able to, but I can’t say that because he has not practiced yet.

Georgia is already missing sophomore running back Branson Robinson for the season in 2023. Robinson suffered a knee injury in preseason practice.

Additionally, true freshman Roderick Robinson is looking unlikely to play against UAB.

Roderick hasn’t been able to practice with us. I’m hoping that we can get them back. It looks doubtful that Roderick is going to be able to play this week.

Robinson has 15 carries for 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns this season.

Georgia got a big boost against South Carolina with the return of running back Daijun Edwards. Edwards, who missed Georgia’s first two games with an MCL injury, ran for over 100 yards in Georgia’s 24-14 win over the Gamecocks.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart calls the Bulldogs’ injury list, “the longest injury list we’ve ever had.”

Look for the Bullldogs to give running backs Cash Jones and wide receiver Dillon Bell more looks against UAB.
