Giants’ Saquon Barkley defends Baker Mayfield’s Dad bod

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley came to the defense of Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield, who had recently been body-shamed.

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is coming to the defense of Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield has been getting body-shamed on social media over photos released from a recent vacation to the Caribbean. Mayfield appears to be a tad bit out of shape in a photo that contains several Giants, including Barkley, Sterling Shepard and Alec Ogletree.

The fact that the Giants players are all in better physical shape than Mayfield doesn’t really help his case, but Barkley assures fans not to worry too much about Mayfield’s physical appearance.

From TMZ Sports:

Saquon says all the haters need to chill … ’cause Mayfield’s just in R&R mode and has plenty of time to get right before next season.

“He’s a quarterback, he’s not supposed to be shredded,” Barkley told us at the Sports Illustrated party in Miami over the weekend.

“We in off-season, he’s gonna have time to get his body right. He can throw the ball 80 yards. That’s the only thing that matters.”

Mayfield was the first player selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. Barkley was second. Shepard was a college teammate of Mayfield at Oklahoma.
