National Signing Day has come and gone, and Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class is officially set. There were 25 total members (26, if you count North Carolina grad transfer tight end Carl Tucker) with talent across the board.

In order for fans to get to know the Crimson Tide’s newest players, we have laid out a “get to know them” article for each member.

Next player on the list is four-star receiver Thaiu Jones-Bell out of Miami Carol City High School in Florida.

Thaiu Jones-Bell, Wide Receiver

Hometown: Opa Locka (Fla.)

High school: Miami Carol City

Size: 5-11, 187

247Sports composite ranking: 4-star / No. 101 overall / No. 20 WR

Rivals ranking: 4-star / No. 177 overall / No. 34 WR

Commitment date: May 20, 2019

Signing date: Dec. 18, 2019

Where does he fit in? Jones-Bell probably won’t be afforded many opportunities to make a significant impact for Alabama in 2020. But that’s not a reflection of his talent, as he’s already shown a skill set that will fit in nicely within the offense.

Like with many of the Crimson Tide’s current receivers, Jones-Bell has the versatility to play the X, Z and H-receiver spots. He can attack opposing defenses downfield or be utilized in an RPO-styled offense with quick slants and other short-yardage routes.

With Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III off the NFL, the top three receivers on the roster are expected to be DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle and John Metchie. That will leave Bell-Jones competing with the likes of Slade Bolden, Tyrell Shavers and others for the No. 4 or 5 role.

Things will be crowded in 2020, but 202 could be a different story.
