Giants safety believes DeVonta Smith was not happy when drafted by the Eagles

New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers took to social media to claim that DeVonta Smith is likely unhappy with being drafted by the Eagles.

Former Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith had an amazing senior season that ended with a Heisman trophy and a national championship. While that short resumé alone packs a punch, Smith was the third wide receiver selected in the 2021 NFL draft.

Smith will begin his professional career with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, leaing up to the draft he had been connected to other teams such as the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants.

The Eagles traded up two spots from No. 12 to No. 10 in order to get Smith, who likely would have been taken by the Giants at No. 11.

Giants safety Jabrill Peppers posted a picture to his Instagram story that makes it seem like he is claiming that Smith was not too happy with being drafted by the Eagles.

The picture is Kadarious Toney and Smith side-by-side on draft night, and it is captioned “The difference of being drafted by the Giants than by the Eagles is clear.”

Aside from the fact that Smith is showing minimal emotion, while Peppers is smiling from ear to ear, there’s no concrete evidence that the Heisman winner is upset with his landing spot.
