Giants injury report: Golden Tate, Eli Penny remain out

New York Giants WR Golden Tate and FB Eli Penny sat out of practice again on Thursday. QB Daniel Jones was a full participant.

The New York Giants were back at practice on Thursday, this time working on the field at MetLife Stadium in an overcast East Rutherford, New Jersey.

All eyes were once again on quarterback Daniel Jones, who seemed to overshare as it relates to his injury status on Wednesday.

“Look, I read Daniel’s comments yesterday. Probably a little more forthcoming than I would have been with it right there,” head coach Joe Judge told reporters. “But as I said yesterday, we’ll do whatever it takes to win the game. But again, I can’t stress it enough, I’m going to always put the players’ health in consideration on how we call the game.

Despite his limitations, Jones was a full participant in practice for the second consecutive day and appears on track to start against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17.

Unfortunately, wide receiver Golden Tate (calf) and fullback Eli Penny (illness) were not as lucky. Neither player practiced on Thursday and their status for Sunday is iffy at best.

Meanwhile, tight end Evan Engram looked to be moving well and his participant level appeared more significant than a day ago.

The Giants’ official injury report can be found below:

Did not participate: WR Golden Tate (calf), FB Eli Penny (illness)

Limited participant: S Jabrill Peppers (ankle), TE Evan Engram (ankle), WR Sterling Shepard (rib)

Full participant: QB Daniel Jones (hamstring), CB Darnay Holmes (knee)
