Giants’ Evan Engram, Golden Tate, two others out vs. Packers

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (foot) and WR Golden Tate (concussion) are among four players out against the Green Bay Packers.

The New York Giants will be without at least four players when they take on the Green Bay Packers this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Despite suiting up and stretching during the portion of practice open to the media, neither Evan Engram (foot) nor Rhett Ellison (concussion) did enough to receive the green light. Both tight ends have officially been ruled out.

Additionally, the Giants also ruled out wide receiver Golden Tate, who is dealing with a concussion, and safety Jabrill Peppers, who suffered a fracture of his spinal vertebrae in a Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Curiously, the Giants did not rule out long-snapper Zak DeOssie (back/wrist) despite reports that he will soon be placed on injured reserve.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur refused to confirm or refute reports that DeOssie would be shut down for the year, noting that his injuries are nothing new and that he did some work earlier in the week. However, DeOssie was absent on Friday as he underwent further testing and evaluation.

No other Giants players received an injury designation.
