Georgia’s Nolan Smith meets with Bills at 2023 NFL combine

Georgia’s Nolan Smith meets with #Bills at 2023 NFL combine:

The player first on the board to confirm a meeting with the Buffalo Bills at the 2023 NFL scouting combine is Georgia’s Nolan Smith.

Smith told reporters, including WIVB-TV, that he met with the team at his press conference from the combine on Wednesday.

Smith enters the 2023 NFL draft as one of the top pass rushers in this year’s event. A senior, Smith recorded seven sacks in eight games last season after putting up eight in 12 contests in 2022.

At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Smith does not have the largest of frames. However, most note his strong ability to be more than just a pass rusher. NFL.com is among those who call him a talented run defender as well.

While the Bills do have depth coming off the edge, the quality of it is questionable. Heading into 2023, Von Miller and Greg Rousseau return as the starters at defensive end.

Despite both being second-round picks, AJ Epenesa and Boogie Basham have only shown flashes in the pros. Could Smith be added to further solidify the Bills off the edge both in the short and long term?

Despite a packed house in Buffalo, Smith sounds like he might like the idea a bit. He told reporters that Miller is a player he idolizes, calling him the NFL’s best pass rusher.

The Draft Network currently has Smith slated as a second-round pick.
