What grades did Wisconsin earn from there 72-65 road loss to Rutgers?

Wisconsin’s road struggles this season continued against Rutgers.

The Badgers throughout the game had their chances of stealing a victory on the road and winning for the first time at Rutgers but with the Badgers down 63-60 with 2:01 to go in the game the Badgers failed to get a rebound off of a missed 3-pointer by Baker.

Johnson for Rutgers was able to come up with the rebound as he was fouled by Trice, which sent him to the line for a 1-and-1. Johnson made both of his free throws to extend Rutgers lead to five points.

Following Johnson’s made free throws King was able to draw a foul against Akwasi Yeboah but was only able to split his free throws.

Rutgers proceeded with a made jumper by Caleb McConnel as he was also fouled on the play by King. McConnel was able to complete the and-1 play. Following a missed three by Reuvers the Scarlet Knights were able to get out in transition as McConnel registered an assist on a made layup by Johnson to give Rutgers a 70-to-61 lead with 22 seconds remaining.

Trice was a nonfactor in the loss to Rutgers as he only attempted two shots and went 0-for-1 from the free throw line. As Trice only registered one assist to his three turnovers, which tied for a season high.

With Trice struggling Anderson was able to step up in his place. Anderson played a season high 24 minutes and scored a Wisconsin career high 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field. Anderson finished the game with two assists but did turn the basketball over a season high three times.

Game MVP: Kobe King

King was Wisconsin’s most consistent offensive player for the Badgers as he went 7-for-12 from the field. King also lead Wisconsin in assists with three to one turnover, in addition, he registered three rebounds and registered one steal.
