There are now just eight schools left in the hunt to land four-star wide receiver Malcolm Johnson Jr.
After 28 reported offers from highly respected programs, Texas was fortunate to make the cut within the top remaining schools.

However, it won’t be a cake walk to land the 6-1, 185-pound speedster from Maryland. Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Maryland, Florida and USC will be competing alongside the Longhorns.
It appeared Johnson was set to commit to Oklahoma with a 100% Crystal Ball projection from 247Sports, but the Sooners were shockingly absent from his list of remaining schools.
Also known as ‘the jet’, Johnson is the No. 5 rated receiver in the state of Maryland, according to 247Sports. Texas is no stranger to utilizing speed, Johnson would make an excellent addition to head coach Tom Herman’s 2021 recruiting class.
