Four-star safety from Florida puts Ohio State in final eight

Daemon Fagan puts Ohio State on his trimmed list. #GoBucks

Ohio State made the shortlist for one of the top-rated safeties in the country earlier in the week. Daemon Fagan is a four-star recruit from the state of Florida and has been pursued by the Buckeyes for quite some time. OSU offered Fagan almost a year ago.

The top prospect kept the Buckeyes on his trimmed list of eight which also included Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, NC State, Penn State, and Central Florida.

Fagan is listed as the No. 24 safety in the 2023 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. The Hurricanes hold the lone crystal ball prediction, but the confidence of that pick is not all that high.

Ohio State has one commit at the safety position so far in the 2023 class in Cedrick Hawkins. Hawkins is the No. 22 safety in the class and also happens to be from the Sunshine state. The addition of Fagan would be a nice tandem from the talent-rich state of Florida.
