It looks like the Ohio State football program will be keenly interested in a potential visitor this weekend. Not in the traditional sense because of the recruiting dead period put in place by the NCAA because of the coronavirus pandemic, but four-star linebacker Raesjon Davis will still be checking things out according to 247Sports’ Greg Biggins (subscription required).
“I’m really excited about it,” Davis told 247Sports. “I actually visited once before with my Premium 7v7 team a couple of years ago but I wanted my parents to come out and see it. We leave Friday and I’ll be out there all weekend.
Davis is one of two main priority targets remaining for OSU’s 2021 class, with the other being 5-star defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau. He was originally committed to LSU but reopened his commitment and is looking to decide between LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, and Vanderbilt. Davis has been wanting to get his parents to Columbus and get a feel for the campus to help make that decision, so this is potentially huge news.
Davis is rated as the No. 4 outside linebacker in the class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings and Ohio State would love to get him in the fold. Current crystal ball predictions have him leaning towards USC, but news of a visit all the way from Santa Ana, California says he is serious about what OSU has to offer.
As we get any kind of feedback on his visit, we’ll provide some updates.
