Talented four-star defensive end Kelvin Gilliam recently narrowed down his list of offers.
Gilliam plans to visit several schools before ultimately making a decision, therefore don’t expect an announcement in the near future. The Highland Springs native is the No. 4 overall rated prospect from Virginia in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite.
Although he’s received roughly 40 different offers from a few of the nation’s top football programs, Gilliam narrowed down his list to the Top 10 schools remaining. Texas fortunately appeared on the list alongside Florida, Kentucky, LSU, California, Penn State, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Blessed !!! ‼️

247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions currently have Gilliam leaning towards Oklahoma. Texas sent an offer to Gilliam in April and it appears it sparked enough interest for the 6-3, 250-pound product to want to take an official visit to Austin.
“I have a great relationship with the new defensive line coach, coach Mark Hagen, who was previously at Indiana, and coach (Oscar) Giles, who is a great defensive line coach. I have also been in contact with coach (Tom) Herman frequently. We have a great relationship. I plan on taking an official out to Texas.”
Head coach Tom Herman continues to make it a high priority to strengthen the defensive line at Texas. If Gilliam does in fact commit to the Longhorns, he’d be among the top five highest-rated commits in their 2021 recruiting class.
