[autotag]Mike Vrabel[/autotag] carved out a great career with the Ohio State Buckeyes and in the NFL. He parlayed that into a very successful coaching career.
That path started in Columbus. He spent the 2011 season as the linebackers coach and 2012-13 as the defensive line coach for his alma mater. The NFL called quickly: Vrabel was the Houston Texans linebackers coach from 2014 to 2016 and elevated to defensive coordinator in 2017.
The Tennessee Titans hired him in 2018 as their coach, and he was named NFL Coach of the Year in 2021. Unfortunately, he was dismissed earlier this year following a 6-11 record.
Many wondered what the next step for Vrabel would be. Now we know. The news broke on Friday afternoon that he is taking a consulting job with the Cleveland Browns.
#Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry have hired Mike Vrabel to serve as a consultant for the Browns, per me and @TomPelissero. The former #Titans coach and Coach of the Year had been with them in Indy at the Combine and will work them this season. pic.twitter.com/W8N0HQJOLB

It would not surprise me at all if Vrabel’s tenure with the Browns was short. He’ll surely be a wanted man come next offseason.
