Former Georgia WR wraps up career-best year in the CFL

Former Georgia football wide receiver Terry Godwin put together an impressive year in the CFL

Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Terry Godwin just finished a career-best year in the Canadian Football League. Godwin, 27, hauled in 68 receptions for 864 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

It is good to see Godwin making a difference in the CFL. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver bounced around the NFL for a few seasons before finding a home in the CFL.

The Carolina Panthers drafted Godwin in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft. Godwin played with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2019-2021. He caught three passes for 32 yards during that time. The Tennessee Titans waived Godwin ahead of the start of the 2022 NFL season. Since then, Godwin has been playing in the CFL.

Hamilton finished 8-10. Godwin was the Tiger-Cats’ second-leading receiver in 2023. Here are highlights from Godwin’s impressive 2023 season.

Godwin played at Georgia from 2015-2018. He finished his Georgia career with 1,800 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns.
