Five-star recruit, Omari Abor, The No. 18 player in the 2022 class and No. 2 edge rusher according to 247 Sports composite ratings has narrowed his list to five schools. Ohio State made the cut in April when the list was ten and is still in the running now that only five schools remain in consideration.
The Texas native kept the Buckeyes on the list with Alabama, LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M. Those missing the cut were Arizona State, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, and USC. Ironically, 247 Sports crystal ball predictions have had the Sooners as the leader in the clubhouse, but it appears OU’s chances have taken a serious hit.
Abor took an official visit to Ohio State in June and seemed to really enjoy his time on campus saying he liked the feel, talking with the coaches, and how they talked about more than just football, but about life too. It’s a reoccurring theme we hear from recruits.

As of now, Ohio State is still looking for the first defensive lineman to sign with the Buckeyes in the 2022 class. Abor would obviously be a great addition to an already strong class that is currently ranked third in the nation.
