Keep an eye on these Longhorns on Saturday.

The 2022 season provides a fresh start for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas program. The Longhorns hope to leave 2021’s disappointments in the past with an improved year this fall.

Texas will have the look of a much different team in Saturday’s opener vs. UL Monroe. The Longhorns welcome many new faces to the roster via the transfer portal and high school recruiting ranks.

The Longhorns do return superstar running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Xavier Worthy back to lead the offense again this season. The dynamic duo established themselves as some of the best playmakers in the country a year ago.

The staff hopes the influx of talent, along with the returning studs can push Texas into the Big 12 Conference championship race.

Sarkisian feels good about the development of his team over the offseason and feels like the culture is at an “all-time high” in his Texas tenure.
